Hi Tracey,
This is not HomePlug as for home networking but broadband power line
distribution as in using the national grid for distribution of broadband
between provider and subscriber. Also delivery of TV content in the same
fashion.
There is a long history of tests in this area upsetting emergency service
comms. Something to do with lamp posts acting as aerials etc.
That said there have been a few papers relating to high density use of Home
Plug *possibly* causing elevated levels of radiated interference which may
upset aircraft navigation aids and communications.
