I think it was option 1. She was using the cinema sound system to
listen
to a CD and she was in the games room next door !!!! I think she must
have had it wound up to 11 on the volume control.
I have tested since with other spreakers and the Amp seems fine...
Kids, who'd have em?

Only 2 ways that I can think off....
1. Severely overdriving them for a long period
2. Catastrophic amplifier failure putting DC out to the
speakers.
