Hi Nigel,
I assume you are describing PASSIVE baluns rather than active.
What do you get on the TV ?
If it's a Blue Mute screen can you disable that in the menu ?
Some sets are very susceptable to low level signals and will mute the
picture and sound but if you can turn the mute off then you might see it.
I don't think it is the 75 ohm termination problem described in another
post
as that tends to be caused by AC coupled inputs. When the source doesn't
see
a DC path it wont output a signal but the transformer (balun) should
present
a DC path and as you said, the same transformers and source work on a
different TV, likewise a different source work with the awkward TV.
I suspect the level is just a bit too low.
