This site does indicate that HDMI will provide 1:1 mapping - as long as you
select "Full pixel" mode.

I got myself a bargain Sony 46" LED panel last week (KDL46W2000) that
runs
at full HD res, 1920x1080.

However, I've got an MCE box connected to it, and the best res I can get is
1380 x 768 (connected via VGA). The grpx card can go much higher than that,
so I assume it's the TV that's reporting a lower res than it's actually
capable of. Has anyone else seen this problem, and if so, how did you
manage
to solve it?

The grpx card has twin DVI outputs, which I'm dongling to VGA.....would
using a DVI - HDMI cable fix it? I called Sony and they said that it's
already running at its maximum res for a VGA connection, which seems a bit
odd to me....?
