Re: RFXCOM and xPL

I have a small HA setup using HomeSeer and MainLobby (with Music
Lobby) and an ADI Ocelot controller. It is all starting to come
together although I have quite a bit to learn still. I wanted to work
on my infra red setup now as I need to control my amplifier and TV and
the RFXCom plus infra red support that xPL seems to offer elsewhere
was interesting so I took a look but now I'm confused...

How would I go about adding xPL into such a setup, to get temperatures
and electricity consumption displayed in MainLobby or HomeSeer and
buttons controlling things and the IR linked with Homeseer IR
functions ? It seems there is no visual / graphic based interfaces to
xPL at all or am I missing something ?

My searching did link me to some xAP applications that offer graphic
interfaces and also plugins for HomeSeer and MainLobby. Are xAP and
xPL the same and if so can I use these to get to MainLobby ? I don't
want another separate system I would like it all to work together
which I think is what xPL does.

Mal Lansell wrote.. "The purpose of xPL is to provide a simple,
common method of communication between all the various kinds of HA
devices."

Also on the RFXCom products there seem to be two receivers both for
433.92 but offering different protocols - is there some reason you
cant use just one for both ?

Sorry if these are silly questions, but I did look over all the
links provided.
