The Push email is Evil Empire all the way.
I got my Exchange server when I ran a business, so it made sense - I was
left with it amongst the detritus, so I had one "lying around".
The Vario II still rocks without the push email, but personally, I'd say
it's worth popping up an Exchange 2K3 box (if you have access to a
cheap/free copy) just to act as a back end for this.
Heck you can even run your Exchange server in a VM on Linux using the
freebie VMWare server.
