Reading from the IEE on-site guide .
The wires you are talking about are known as the "consumer's meter
tails".
"the minimum cable size should be 25mm^2. The distributor may specify
the
maximum length and the minimum cross-sectional area"
With a 7m run, I think you should consult your supplier.
