RE: [OT] ADSL Max - New microfilters?

Mine is still rubbish - it's nearly a month now (20th march) and is
frankly
unuseable half the time. Just now, I am getting 2.4 Mb down (that's the
best
I ever get, despite my line syncing at up to 4800), earlier on this
evening,
I had 435Kb down, and packet loss that made video streaming impossible.

Best advice for Adsl Max - AVOID!

Ian.

I've been doing a lot of research on the whole Max topic + experience with
my 3 lines - these links are good to look at:

http://www.farina1.com/bookmark/000004/2005/02/27/00020260.HTM

http://www.aaisp.net.uk/aaisp/maxmagic.html

Common problems (as I've seen on all 3 of my lines) include the data
throughput rate being limited for many days ranging from 3 to more than a
month - even though the modem syncs at a high speed (8Mbps in my case).
There is light at the end of the tunnel though - so hang on in there!

Personally - I've always had at least 2Mbps on the whole download and a
nice
832 Kbps upload (which is a huge improvement).

Lots of chat on ADSLGuide about all this.

Paul.
