Hi Jim

It is indeed the Atmel range, specifically the ATMega16. I won't use ISP
however. My preference is to use the JTAG interface for initial programming
and debugging and then use a boot loader via the serial port for firmware
updates. Once in production I will load the boot loader in using JTAG and
the main program using the boot loader.  Very sweet.

Is it the Atmel AVR you're using?
