Remote location of desktop PC's?

Has anyone remotely located one or more PC=92s (in Node0 for
instance)?

I=92m just wondering if it=92s physically and practically possible?

For instance, how long is a longest run for a DVI cable?

USB peripherals should be OK I guess on a Cat5 extender(s)

The biggest down-side I can see is if you need regular access to CD or DVD
=
devices for reading and writing. Any way to remotely locate these but
retai=
n good performance (especially with DVD writers needing fast access)?

The advantages are less space needed on a desk, clean, uncluttered working
=
environment and less noise/heat generated (And I am talking about Pentium
D=
monsters with powerful graphics and 3-4 HDD=92s).

Any thoughts?

Paul.
