If you can wait a little bit, there will soon be an xPL solution for
this. I'm almost done writing a plugin for Media Center that will
allow you to send commands exactly as you describe (as well do
things like dim the lights when a movie starts).
I'm also close to finishing a ZWave connector for xPL, although you
can stick with Homeseer for that.
