Media Centre & Homeseer integration

Does anyone know how to send commands from media centre to homeseer
I know you can buy a web server style plug in but its overkill for my
application.
I have a few Z-wave modules on lights etc that I would like to
trigger a macro on pressing a spare button on the media centre remote
(ie fast text buttons)
Thought about girder ?
I suppose I could use a seperate IR reciever and girder but it would
be neat if I could use the media centre IR receiver.
Is it easy enought to send commands from Girder to homeseer to
trigger a macro ?
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
(Very happy with the z-wave kit)
