Thanks for the compliments guys.

It was hard work but well worth it.

And yes... I can't wait to get rid of that carpet. I can't really
change it until I've wired the rest of the house. I want CAT6 and
CT100 in everyroom for full multiroom Video.

I did look at the angle grinder option, but my golden goal was to
keep dust to a minimum. In this burning hot heat, my wife and son
were stuck in the front room on the sunny side of the house and I
just wanted to get the job done quickly and with the least
disruption.

The method I used in the end was by drilling and chiselling and it
worked quite well. It took about an 40 mins per channel. You can
