RE: Me plasma's knackered

Have a look on the AV Forums Plasma forum, there are a number of posts
about
Pioneer plasma power supplies and replacements free of charge outside of
warranty. Could save you more than a few quid if you ca get Pioneer to fix
FOC.

If you do decide that it's time to go for HD then make sure you check out
the Fuji 58 series, the screens at Cedia looked fantastic and the
warranty/back up is superb. It is a display rather than a TV so no built-in
TV tuner but if you are using it with Sky or an external freeview box then
this is not an issue.

Subject: [ukha_d] Me plasma's knackered

Very unhappy SWMBO and sprogs over the weekend.

Switch the Plasma on Saturday morning *POP* then nothing :(

No picture and the little status lights keeps flashing 4 times which i
guess
means its broken... (its a PDP-433HDE if anyone has one thats done the
same)

Anyone like to hazzard a guess at a repair cost for Pioneer to send someone
to my house to repair what i believe is a power supply ??

Before i talk to Pioneer i guess i might need to prepare myself for the
thought of having to buy a replacement.

@ 3.5 years old i think its a bit premature to scrap it but perhaps the
opportunity to buya HD ready screen.

So if there's any Pioneer Plasma engineers on the list - yes i know thats
wishful thinking - then please get in touch and help me through this
difficult time :)

Kids are moaning like mad at having to watch CBeebies on a 20" LCD

Dean.
