Rob,

Meant to reply to this when you posted and then plain forgot, sorry.

No worries.. :)

Firstly, I would recommend you look at the aquavision screen, it has a
better plain finish (No advertising text just a tiny logo which
incorporates a standby LED) and has a number of finishes (Ice white,
mirror etc). I've seen both side by side and IMHO the picture quality is
better on the aquavision. Also has discreet for inputs which the
tilevision does not (Unless they have changed the spec).

Your now the second person to respond and recommend the Aquavision screens
over the Tilevision. They seem to be about =A3250 dearer than the
Tilevisio=
n,
so are they worth the extra premium ? In what way are the screens better
.. better colour, contrast .. faster refresh.. wider viewing angle ?

As for location I would go for the 'rest of room position'. However, I'm
not sure your location will be nice in the bath.=20

I'm sure it wouldn't.. but its a question of compromise. I'm almost
certainly going for the end of the bath position. Since starting
to stud out the wall for the toilet etc, I've noticed that the TV
should still be pretty viewable from other locations.

Our bathroom is a
similar layout to yours and we have the LCD on the wall opposite the
false wall. It can be seen comfortably from the loo, sink, shower and
bath. Our false wall also has a large heated mirror so you can even see
it when using the basin. I know it's a reverse image but you really
don't notice while watching BBC breakfast news, MTV or whatever whilst
cleaning your teeth :-).

Not too much of a problem for me.. I get up about 20mins before I have
to leave the house so I'm either not awake or I've not got time to watch
any TV in the mornings :)

We have a Xantech pad on the wall for control which also turns the LCD
on and off using a discreet and macro, works really well. I still have
not sourced a good waterproof learning remote. I did manage to track
down the UK importer/supplier of the Balboa Dolphin
http://www.balboa-instruments.com
but never got round to ordering from
my searching it seems the only 8in1 learning waterproof remote at a
sensible cost.=20

I'm probably going to regret asking, but how much was the Dolphin ?

If we sit in the bath (double ended bath ;-)) we use the
pronto from the bedroom, yeh one day it will fall in :-) The problem
with our screen position is that only one person can see it so you fight
over who gets which end. I guess though that's an improvement over
fighting over who gets the taps in their back ;-)

Drop me a mail off-list if you want to see some pictures (Nooooo, of the
bathroom!!!!).

P.S. Every bathroom design we had done advised AGAINST raising the bath
and putting in steps. It will make the room look smaller. (apparently?)=20

Yep.. that's one reason why I'm doing it. The room is too long, narrow and
even though we've dropped the ceiling, too tall. Raising the bath should
make a nice visual feature and bring the room into better proportion.
.. well that's the theory, I may have to eat me words :)

I bought an "overflow filler kit" for the bath, the tap is
actually like a
little joystick, and will be mounted remotely from the bath. I'm also
wanti=
ng
to (eventually) automate the filling of the bath, so have bought a
thermost=
atic
mixing valve that I plan to plumb in (under the bath set to a preset
temper=
ature)
as a branch before the tap (one way valves) and feed into the feed from
the=
tap..
I'm thinking that a 12volt radiator style electric valve would then serve
a=
s an
automated tap. Not sure how to handle the plug issue but it should be
possi=
ble=20
to rig up a small motor that would push open the push up plug for 10
minute=
s
prior to commencing filling.

P.P.S. No connection to aquavision etc bla etc.
=20
P.P.P.S It's the best HA job I've ever done and I'm itching to do the
guest bathroom but it cost the GDP of a small country to do even with me
doing all the labour :-(

tell me about it.. its all the hidden extras that mount up. I've just spent
another tonne at B&Q for some bits and pieces of plumbing stuff
(copper/pla=
stic
pipe, soil pipe, propane gas etc). SWMBO was watching a house
renovation/de=
signer
show the other day that said 50% of the cost of doing a bathroom are
hidden=
costs!

Thanks

Marcus
