No - you cannot do that.

You cannot just wire a serial port to a USB port and expect it to work -
hell, you'll probably be lucky for it to survive! (OK - A bit of an
overstatement but that's the idea.)

You cannot just wire between serial and USB and the chances of being able
to
run a serial port GPS receiver into a Type B USB connector is nil.
