semi-detached house and there seems to be two types, glass fibre and Bonded

from pre 1880, the front was added in around 1910 and the side bay and
brick attic dormer in around 1920. There at least 4 type of brick plus
sandstone. Doing a google seems to indicate that Bonded Beads might be the
better option (although I'm concerned about what happens around airbricks

Are you sure you have cavities? They more often found in post-1930s
houses AIUI. (Both of the 1930s houses I've lived in were solid wall
construction).

The advise I've seen suggested checking with neighbours to see who's had
what put in, and whether it works or if they've had any
condensation/damp problems as a result.

started looking at this is because I've just looked at how much electricity
we're using running 3 servers 24/7 + Tivo + Sky etc !

in summer ;-)
