Do you actually have cavities in a house that old ?

All my exterior walls are solid brick and the interior walls upstairs are
studwork with reed and plaster coating ....

....well they were in Ambers room until I ripped them out during the last
two weeks and rebuilt them with plasterboard over a chipboard backing for
strength (also giving the ability to actually fix things to the wall!). I
also filled the cavity with fibreglass insulation.

I have just got back from the tip having filled the Galaxy completely with
the debris from all this. All 220Kg of it. !!!!

OK. So my DIY activities may seem [OT] for this list were it not for the
fact that in the process of upgrading the walls, the electrical fittings in
the room have gone from ...

1 x double 13A socket
1 x single 13A socket
1 x LW11

to

3 x double 13A sockets
1 x LW11
2 x CT100
4 x CAT5

... so On Topic afterall :)
