RE: Quietish PC



You have to be careful when suspending drives like that to make sure
they still have enough airflow to keep cool. When a drive is bolted into
a big metal cage, the cage acts as a massive heatsink conducting heat
away from drive. Suspended by elastic none of that conduction happens.
Most modern drives now have onboard temperature sensing and using
something like hddtemp or motherboard monitor will read it so you can
see whats happening.
