Virtual PC is emulation though - the Intel code has to be translated to
PowerPC code on the fly, which steals a lot of CPU cycles.

Virtualisation allows for two disparate sets of code to share one
machine with very little overhead.

Agreed. It may be possible to run something in parallel with video
editing, but it's not sensible. Doubly so if the something is an entire
other OS :-)
