Dont use oversized QED leads there is no need.
The output from the soundcard is low impedance and reasonable high level.
It
could be carried several metres on unscreened cable without picking up
interference.
3.5mm jacks only have a miniscule contact area inside the socket and any
pressure in the wrong direction will cause the plug (any plug no matter how
expensive) to lose contact.
Fitting a lead with a heavy plug and heavy cable will exert a lot of force
on a tiny socket which probably only costs about 5 pence anyway.
Use either a molded 3.5mm to two phonos lead or if you really feen the need
for heavy gauge cables feeding into your amp, get some of the really short
3.5mm to two Phono Socket adapter leads and then plug monster size phono
leads into them.
It is also good practice to anchor the sheath of the cable to the body of
the PC at some point with a cable tie to avoid the weight of the cables
hanging on the plugs.
