Yes, but I don't fancy trying (and neither do I think it's fair
really) to find a builder who's prepared to work around that idea. As
I see it, either I run the project, bringing in subcontractors
as-required for each trade (ie self-building), or not - I just see a
half-way approach getting on everyone's nerves, especially if I were
DIY-ing. (But that's an OT debate, and would probably be better on the
selfbuild group...)

Being a kitchen extension, there's potentially quite a lot of
electrical work to do, so I'm really looking for someone HA-savvy who
can deal with the whole thing, preferably as part of, or alongside,
the main building contractor. It's just how do I find that someone,
and get a main contractor to reciprocate?
