External USB laptop drive

Hi there,

Might be a daft question, but I've got a USB external drive caddy for a
2.5"
laptop drive. The cable supplied has 2 USB connectors which I believe is to
get enough power to the hard drive. Looking at the specs for the drive the
biggest draw is at spin up @ 5W, so my question, do I plug both USB
connectors in first then the connector to the drive caddy or do I do drive
caddy first then USB one at a time. This latter way, would it mean that I
then exceed the current for the port, I believe the drives are 5v and the
ports can only supply 500ma. Just curious as I don't really want to fry
something!

Cheers,

Keith
