The hardware requirements aren't all that onerous really. It's only a
matter of time before someone comes up with a single chip solution (if
it doesn't exist already). No reason why you couldn't have something the
size of a SCART breakout box that plugs in the back of the telly and
provides an RJ45 socket on the back for the network connection...
