You could try a drawing program of some sort (Paint will do) and draw some
thin diagonal
straight lines (exactly 45 degrees is probably best). If you look very
closely, you should
be able to see the individual pixels by the staircasing effect. Move the
window to the
area of the dead pixels and maybe it will help you count them. You will
either need to get
*very* close to see the individual pixels, or else use a magnifying glass.
