I was about to suggest trying using the Xantech "SUN" filters but
I'd
forgotten that the Buffalo tube receivers come with the filers bundled in.

I occasionally have a use...

...BTW the cable run from your AV room down to your IR block *WAS* picking
up noise IIRC. I'm sure that we ran a temporary cable out from that
receiver, down through the loft hatch, down the stairs and into the garage
and it worked OK without the green telltale LED on the receiver coming on
again after a short time, sticking the original cable back in circuit gave
the telltale lighting up again after a minute or two.
