Part P and how much of a kitchen/ddining room is a kitchen

Hi all, I hope someone can help me make sense of the part P regs.

I have just taken out the wall between our Kitchen and Dining rooms,
this wall previously had a socket on either side, I have moved the
sockets to the outside walls. When you have a kitchen/dining room does
it all count as a kitchen? My room is 25' long but only 10' is kitchen.

Also what about work previosuly completed before the regs came into
effect. I know many of you spent all of you Xmas holiday finishing
work.

Many Thanks
Ian
