Re: Part P and how much of a kitchen/ddining room is a kitchen

With building regs it is not about when you completed the works, but when
you submitted your plans for building regs approval. So if it was before
the new Part P then it will not matter.

You do not have to make everything comply that you did earlier with the
current building regs.

Also if it is just simple internal work where a BCO will not be coming
round to inspect the work you don't really have to be so stringent on
yourself to comply.

I am not offering advice (as an architect) .. just my opinion as a person.

Subject: [ukha_d] Part P and how much of a kitchen/ddining room is a
kitchen

Hi all, I hope someone can help me make sense of the part P regs.

I have just taken out the wall between our Kitchen and Dining rooms,
this wall previously had a socket on either side, I have moved the
sockets to the outside walls. When you have a kitchen/dining room does
it all count as a kitchen? My room is 25' long but only 10' is kitchen.

Also what about work previosuly completed before the regs came into
effect. I know many of you spent all of you Xmas holiday finishing
work.

Many Thanks
Ian
