Re: Barionet (Barix) also IP Power 9212 (Aviosys) help/advise

Hi Jason,

Also take a look at the Phaedrus Netiom

http://www.phaedrusltd.com/pages/html/data_processing.html

This is a board that has more than twice as much I/O for similar
retail cost , £69 + VAT inc P&P (although it is not cased). It has
other
extras available to likeLED indicators, relay outputs and optical isolation

16 Digital Inputs
16 Digital Outputs
4 Analog Inputs
1 Bidirectional RS232 port
16 Counters
16 High Latches
16 Low Latches
Ethernet interface
Inbuilt Web server
Inbuilt email triggers (sends email on triggers)
xAP (option)

Interestingly there is a version of this board available with xAP
embedded in the firmware using BSC (Basic Status and Control). This is
the first 'xAP embedded' commercial product, no PC required This makes
the device operate in realtime with many other xAP applications
including HomeSeer which sounds like it will be of interest to you . You
use the free xAP plugin for HomeSeer v1 (and now v2 too) and the device
is automatically recognised, it can be controlled vie the UI interface
or scripts within HomeSeer and the status is updated in realtime too.
If you use MainLobby or XLobby the I/O can be incorporated directly
there in a graphic /touchscreen front end too too - again in realtime
using plugins that interface to HomeSeer. Because this uses BSC xAP
Floorplan (free) and xAP BSC Mapper also work in a plug and play
fashion and even perhaps C-Bus using the xAP C-Bus gateway so you can
get 16 switch inputs to C-Bus or 16 relay type outputs , controllable
from C-Bus

Kevin

PS Take a look at the VIOM on Phaedrus' site too - it is sort of similar
(but no Ethernet) and has 'smarts' meaning the inputs can be internally
mapped to outputs with logic/delays.
