Mmm, possibly, altho I personally think that the Nintendo DS (with its
touch screen) is a better candidate for HA. Plus it would seem like
sacrilege to take a PSP apart, whereas with the DS it feels like your
just accelerating the process of it falling apart anyway.

I wouldn't get too excited by these early hacks. The "web
browser" is
a primitive thing that's built into the Wipeout game; the hack is to
set up a DNS server that causes it to go where you want, rather than
to the developer's software upgrade site. The IRC client builds on
this - it's basically just a crappy web->IRC gateway. The "eBook
reader" works by rendering each page as a JPEG and using the PSP's
photoviewer to read them - no, really ;)

Having said that, the PSP is a stunning device - the display is gorgeous.
