I would recommend bypassing the built-in dimmers to minimise any potential
problem. We have tried using an LM12U Lamp Module on two lights with
built-in dimmers. One worked fine (floor-standing halogen with a slider
dimming control) but one flashed repeatedly and burnt out (replacement
wall dimmer with rotary control). Both were set to 100% brightness.
