[OT] ishh central heating controls

As we all have from time to time, I have been posting like made on various
forums... And just been getting comments back that really are worth while..
you know the ones..

'Get someone in to do it..." there are lots of people who can answer
pluming
questions... but lack the electical knowledge of a system. Considering that
a lot of people here have linked it into their home automation systems,
this
seems like a fair question to ask everyone.

Question:
I can't for the life of my figure out the electrical setup on the heating
and pump controls (I always like to know how things work incase they go
wrong and or allow me to check that everything is working as expected).

All I can see is that the pump, a T valve, hot water and heating panel (ONE
UNIT), and thermostat (Siemens far too complex) are all connected together
somehow.

As for the boiler... well it looks like it has its own electical source
(not
found where the wire runs to yet.. loft somewhere) so I can only assume
that
it turns it's self on when it detects water flow ? Do boilers do this..
bearing in mind mine is quite old

TODAYS BLOG ON THE SUBJECT

Anyway it's taken me the best part of a day to remove and replace my
central
heating pump. I had to drain the entire system because the stop valves at
either end of the old pump were knacked, so replace them as well.

Well finally got it all in and was just about to refill the sytem, when I
checked to see how much inhibitor I had left none !! checked the clock 5:10
local plumber merchant shuts at 5 so will now have to wait until tommorow.

The next problem I have is trying to figure out how to get the pump going,
having not done it before. The manual and book I have say to 'DO A MANUAL
START' buy turning the innter screw thingy..

Thanks HA TEAM in advance
