Don't know about the Laser unit, but I use X10 appliance modules to control
mine (although I've just switched 2 of them over to ZWave units). HomeSeer
switches the power on, the curtains close (or open) and then one minute
later HomeSeer powers the appliance module off. The main reason I do that
is that the Autoglide PSU's hum/buzz a lot which disturbs sleep overnight!
The downside though is that you lose local control of the units this way
however I've plenty of other options available with things like
stick-a-switches, remotes, etc to over-ride them.

As an aside I'd put some money aside to replace the gears in the Autoglide
units in a couple of years time! All bar one of mine (6) have now failed
after just over two years of opening and closing our curtains each day.
None of the curtains are particularly heavy but the gearbox on top of the
motor just doesn't appear to be up to the job.

Subject: [ukha_d] AutoGlide curtains with the LaserX10 control unit

Hi

Normally with the autoglide curtains, if you drop the power and
reapply, the curtains will close/open depending on there state.
Anyone know if this still happens with the laser X10 controller units
in place? (which can do discrete open/close). Reason i'm asking is
cause i dont really want to have up to 8 curtain PSU's on 24hrs,
would rather turn them on when required, do the job, turn them off

thanks in advance
(any other ideas welcome)

Ade
