...a really good NiMh battery charger - something quick to charge AA's,
something that will charge batches or 2, 4, 6 or 8 AA's at a go, something
that will handle other battery sizes too - at least AAA and 9v (PP3) size
but C and D cell would be nice too as I know what my folks have bought
