Ian,
Mmmm.. getting wires to both sides of the door way would be tricky
I have seen units that have the TX and RX in one unit and bounce the=20
beam off a reflective disc which may be better suited to my needs.=20

The doorway does not have any frame or architrave, its just a plastered
hol=
e
in the wall, so mounting/feeding wire to both sides is a pain.

Having said that, =A37.99 sounds pretty cheap so it may be worth the
hassle=
.

Since X10 signals take about a second to be sent, how far back have you
pla=
ced
the IR beam .. I would assume you'd need to place it before the kitchen
ent=
rance..
in order for HV to have time to turn the light on before you enter the
kitc=
hen.
I'm thinking that "maybe" a hardwired ceiling PIR mounted just in
front of =
the=20
doorway and masked down to a 1 foot square might give better results.=20

The units I have are based around two circuit boards, one each side. I=20
have extended the LED wires and sunk them into the doorframe. They are=20
virtually invisible (and really were when Wifey painted over them one day)=
=20
and the original circuit boards are mounted above and behind the door so=20
out of the line of sight. There are 2 LED's one side and 1 the other.

Ian
