The units I have are based around two circuit boards, one each side. I
have extended the LED wires and sunk them into the doorframe. They are
virtually invisible (and really were when Wifey painted over them one day)
and the original circuit boards are mounted above and behind the door so
out of the line of sight. There are 2 LED's one side and 1 the other.

Ian,
Thanks for the info, I'll check out maplins (and CPC, TLC etc)

Are the surface mounted or recessed into the door frame ?
I assume the active part is on one side of the frame and the otherside
is a reflector.. or are both sides active i.e. need wires to them ?
