Funny you should say that, I tried that recently, but with Halfords
conductive paint (only ?10 :) but the paint seemed to just spread out on
the
motherboard. I.e.put a tiny drop to link the pads from pin and the paint
spread out to a much too large area, about 5mm across. I wiped it all off
with solvent and soldered it.  I'd didn't think it was worth the risk with
someone else's XBox...

Wow Ian, that guide looks great!

Just a thought from a solder-phobic (as I said last thing I soldered was
a PSX chip over 6 years ago!) - the bridging of those points could be
equally done with a conductive pen couldn't it? Feck, I thought that
would be a cheaper option too, but Maplin list conductive pens at 15 quid!
