I think it's the confusion between a normal sale by auction and the time
limited thing, tbh. It's not about being a muppet, it's about people's
expectations. A saddening number of people only sell once or twice on
ebay.

Actually... I agree with Mark Harrison

/me pauses for dramatic effect, and awaiting some strange lightning
effect...

Auto extension would be the closest analogue to the more typical in
person auctions. As a seller, I'd love it, and as a buyer I wouldn't
mind it.

Would make it tougher for picking up cheap junk though.
(which probably means that the missus would approve as well!) ;)
