Re: Automated Bin - a more serious suggestion
I believe many 60's high-rise tower blocks in this country were commonly
outfitted with these waste-chutes, and I'm sure I recall reading various
tales of problems with them, including the smell coming back up the
communal
chute and stinking out the flats, and occasional instances of the chute
becoming blocked, with ever-more rubbish then backing-up up the chute... I
also remember a tale of some little bast^H^H^H^H kids setting fires in the
bins at the bottom, sending smoke back up the chute and into all the
flats....
