[OT] Buildng a concrete base

I know there are a few self-build types here - anyone got a good on-line
resource for advice and step-by-step info on building a 4-6" thick
concrete base for a garden house (new log cabin style workshop) -
including advice on contraction joints etc? I have got the Collins DIY
manual which is quite good but wanted additional info.
