Re: Re: xAP HomeSeer plugin - Released

Sounds like you've done everything right.
I've just tried this here and got exactly the same result, no devices
added. No xAP conduit location, nowt.
Just tried it with xap news. Same thing, it recognises the device, but wont
create any devices.
Restarting homeseer doesn't seem to help. Changing location name doesn't
help.

James, is there a problem?

Paul,
If you want, you could take any questions over to the xap_automation yahoo
group.

Subject: RE: [ukha_d] Re: xAP HomeSeer plugin - Released

I've installed a copy of watcher-viewer on my main workstation, and that
all
seems to be working OK. - I can see all my PC's in the viewer display.
(note: is the refresh interval configurable?)

I'm a smidgeon concerned about the Homeseer plugin's actions in response to
this though...

As expected, every time I started the watcher service on one of the PC's,
the homeseer plugin launched the new hardware wizard... The very first time
it did this, it said the device was unknown and offered the "update
schema"
or "Raw xAP" mode options.... I tried update first, - no change,
so I then
tried the raw option, which produced the list of selectable items in the
main window.. I changed the default selections to those I wanted, and
selected the "create Devices" button (leaving the location at the
default of
"xAP Conduit").....

Trouble is, I don't have any new devices in Homeseer, nor do I have a new
location called "xAP conduit"...

Each of the other PC's matched the device straight away, so I didn't get
the
"unknown" and the "raw" steps to deal with, I jumped
immediately to pressing
the "create devices" button.

None of them however have created any Homeseer devices.....

So what have I done wrong then?....

TIA

Paul G.

PS, should I direct this thread to another forum?
