Hello,

I would like to use my pc to issue IR control to the tv and hifi etc,
but I wondered if I could hijack the thread and ask something slightly
different about IrDA?

I asked the other week but no-one answered me ;(

What makes/models of IR port do you suggest I buy or avoid, or are
they all pretty much of a muchness? Is there any advantage to a usb
one over one that plugs into the motherboard, or vice versa?

I would like to use it mainly to connect my nokia 8310 to my pc. I
downloaded the software from the nokia web site and bought a phone to
usb cable from ebay but the software does not believe the phone is
connected so I am going to try an IR link. Can anyone tell me how to
get the cable connection working instead?
