OT - banner making software

Apologies for OT post.

Thanks to our new father on the list, Mr Stuart Grimshaw aka Stubbs, I am
now
addicted to Mambo (which is an open source content management system).

I now want to add banners onto the site we have created using Mambo. Can
anyone
recommend any easy to use, (cheap), banner making software. My graphics
skills
are limited, so anything that can help make professional looking banners
would help.
