A hole in the wall ?? Touchscreen Control needed.

Hi,

afer reading the threads on ppc's using ccf's controlling pc's.... :)
I basically want something simpler, my intention is to hack a hole in
the wall, put a 7" or 8" (car type)touchscreen tft, nicely frame
it
next to the light switches so it looks the part, and use it to pilot
my mp3 collection (using winamp) on a dedicated living room pc. I
don't need album covers, just some playlist selections, shuffle,
next, repeat etc.

Additional functionality needed : I have to be able to use the
touchscreen to drive PVR software on the pc and some X10 control
would be nice, eventually view the weather forecast, and when not in
use it should display a clock, or a quote of the day, lunar
cycles....or just a screensaver - I might be able to set that
myself :)

Any suggestions on what sw would cover these basic needs much
appreciated - preferrably windows based, I am not a sw developer so
customising and R&D-ing is not my cup of tea, neither is linux :(
