Hi Steve,

It was a rig supply boat moored up in Great Yarmouth harbour. British Gas
decided it would be cool to hold their summer barbeque on the boat. The
deck
of the boat had been repainted specially for the occasion to smarten up the
boat.

When I tried to pack my speakers away they were partially stuck to the deck
:-(

Getting the gear on and off the boat was fun as well. Both loading and
unloading times were at high tide and the gangway to the boat was like a
see-saw because the side of the boat was higher than the quay!

I have done a disco on a moving boat, a Missisippi style paddle steamer on
the Norfolk Broads but by then had varispeed decks so didnt have to worry
about the generator frequency. Also provided the sound on several carnival
floats including sitting underneath a miniature oil rig on the Great
Yarmouth float in London's "Lord Mayors" procession a few years
ago.

I once did a disco for "HM Customs & Excise". When I walked
into the room
there was enough cases of "Royal Dutch Lager" for each guest to
have about 4
cases each. I joked "where did you confiscate this lot from"....
went down
like a lead balloon... bit close to the truth me thinks!

Keith
