Thanks Kieth, your input is, as ever, really useful.
I had been thinking of ducting more in the line of a 32mm or 40mm
version of the stuff at the following url.

RS sell it at about =C2=A36 per metre[1] but I suspect it could be got
cheaper than RS.
I know it is a bit expensive but would be cheaper than cutting out cable
runs afterwards. To keep costs down you could just use it in places
where you suspect you'll need more cables e.g. node 0 to the AV area in
the sitting room.
I've googled a bit more and found Sunbank [2] conduit system which has a
minimum bend angle to stop the conduit kinking in corners. I haven't
found a price for it yet though.
What do you think ?
