Well yeah... But my kettle is knackered and wont turn on, its no more
dangerous than a 'travel' kettle, as its never left unattended.. I have
thought about automating a kettle in the past, and I always thought
something like a marble may hold it down, but get thrown off when it
starts to boil, or the force of switch lifting may throw it up.. I
decided it was a bit of a risk, and I'd rather just boil the kettle. I
guess you could time how long it takes to boil, then when the boiling
point is expected pulse the off signal to it, just incase it gets lost!
Or with a home networked thermostat in the kettle!
Ah, the joys of tea!

Now that I WOULDNT do because it will stop it switching off when it
boils.
Likewise I wouldnt put an X10 module on an electric blanket or electric
heater.
I have no problem with the kettle though because you have to make a
conscious
effort to prime it in the first place.
