(Confused by the subject's mention of LM11... assuming LD11 ;->)

You can definetley operate an LD11 by X10 with no local switching
connected to it, I used to use one in exactly that scenario.

Not heard of anything. What I did for a while though as a bodge as I
couldn't find the momentary I had, was I connected a standard light
switch to the momentary contacts which let me throw the switch which
started a constant dim/bright cycle until I threw it the other way when
it got to the level I wanted...... but I don't think manual discreet
up/down is going to be possible at all, only via X10.
