RE: X10 LM11 Din dimming module advice needed

Hi Darren.

I'm not sure about the "Must" bit, - I'm reasonably certain that
you can
still operate an LD11 via X10 whether a local switch is connected or
not...

The LD11's local switch interface only supports momentary switches
though, and only supports cycling through dim/bright as you describe.
There is (AFAIK) *no* way to have separate dim/bright switches connected
to an LD module (unless someone knows a hack for them).

To get what you want, you'd *have* to use an X10 switch instead, and
thus control it by X10. There are some not too bad looking off-the-shelf
ones available, or you could hack a mini-timer apart and use the
circuitry from that to build your own switchplate. ISTR that someone on
the list has done that as a project, and posted a link to some photos of
it... perhaps whoever that was will care to chime in...

If I install 4 of these modules in my consumer unit can I control
each circuit via my pronto remote and X10 mini controller? The
reason why I ask is that I have read that the LM11 'MUST' be
connected to a momentary switch. I do of course want to
have 'manual / SWMBO' control and again advice on this would be
welcomed. We want to have a wall plate in brushed stainless / satin
silver finish but what I don't want is to have to 'cycle' through
dim to bright, etc. which apparently happens if you use momentary
switches; instead is there some kind of wall plate which has a
seperate dim and brighten button? along with of course one for
on/off?

I'm using LV Halogen in each of the 4 zones with a maximum of 400W
per zone.

Many thanks
Darren
