RE: [OT] bluetooth card

Reckon that would do nicely....

>From your experience, do you know if it can operate with the antennae
retracted, or does that automatically turn the card off?

It's not a big deal to have to extend a pop-out antennae each time, but
all the better if I don't even have to bother with that....

What about a 3Com Bluetooth PC Card with XJack:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008W55P/026-8695019-2626007

I bought one of these a couple of years back to do a similar job,
drivers were crap and I eventually gave up, and bought a Vaio laptop
with built in BT.

I presume their drivers will have been updated by now, possibly Win XP
SP2 may recognise it as well. What you must ensure is the BT adapter
supports the HID profile if you want to use a BT mouse.

If I get the chance I will dig out my old card and see if I can get it
working with new drivers.
